It is good that the government is upholding women’s rights. However, it should take into account the case of single parents particularly single mothers. Women’s advocates have been raising the need to provide assistance for single mothers for a long time now. These mothers are often women who got pregnant at an early age. Their partners and family have left them or they were forgotten by them. These women need support from the government. They raise their own kids alone without support from anyone. Single mothers take on odd jobs to raise their children. They are commonly discriminated by employers because of their status. Aside from giving them financial assistance, these mothers need emotional help too. A lot of them have suffered trauma, discrimination and some of them have ran away from home. These young mothers should be given a chance to society. They need to be taken cared of because they deserve a second chance.
